• Description of the Project’s Content

The European Union-supported project titled Capacity Building at HEAT-GÁZGÉP Ltd., identified as GINOP-1.2.1-15-2015-00555, has been successfully completed with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund. This project, exceeding 89 million forints in non-refundable support, was implemented at our headquarters located at 28 Erdész Street in Nagykanizsa.

The project included the acquisition of machinery and equipment necessary for expanding production. Throughout the implementation process, the management periodically reviewed the project and, in agreement with the Sponsor, adjusted the procurement of machinery and equipment to market changes through contract modifications. The acquired assets are as follows:

Orbital welding machine, type T-Pro 250 DC BasicPlus.

One typical task in heat exchanger manufacturing is welding the heat exchanger tubes into the tube sheets. By employing an orbital welding machine, we have increased capacity and can consistently produce in high quality and uniformity.

FANUC Robodrill machining cell D21LIB5 and parts cleaning equipment.

Fully automated manufacturing unit for machining aluminum regulator housings of EKB, EKB-SF, and VF types. Human intervention is only required during the loading of raw housings onto trays, where an employee loads approximately 0.5 to 1 shift’s worth of quantity. Periodic measurements and tool/equipment changes for product family transitions also require human activity. However, the manufacturing process itself is fully automated. A robot picks up the loaded raw pieces and places them into the machining center for machining, after which another robot removes them and places them into the parts cleaning equipment. After cleaning, another robot takes the finished parts from the conveyor belt and places them into trays. These trays can then be directly transported to the assembly area. The use of the machining cell eliminates human subjective effects on quantity and quality of production, and provides great flexibility to manufacture increasingly common type variations within the product family according to market demands.

Following the expiration of the project’s maintenance period, which lasted until December 31, 2021, FANUC retrieved these equipment on December 8, 2022, as HEAT energy Ltd lawfully terminated the contract with them. This fact did not affect the fulfillment of the commitments made in the project.

Conventional lathe, type CU1250RD/1500.

The equipment is capable of machining large-sized components. By commissioning it, we can reduce dependency on subcontractors by establishing a certain level of internal capacity. We have chosen a lathe with a turning diameter range that complements our existing machining center, allowing us to produce such components internally more affordably and flexibly.

Tightness testing equipment assembled for the EKB-SF gas pressure regulator (2 pieces).

After the assembly of the newly developed product line, external tightness must be measured at multiple pressure levels. The automatic functionalities of the equipment enhance the efficiency of the testing process. It is crucial that the gas pressure regulator devices, which are rated as good, comply with the plans, standards, and customer requirements. This tightness testing equipment ensures the final step in achieving this.

Atlas Copco GA 55 VSD FF rotary screw compressor.

We use it to produce compressed air at 10 bar, and the old equipment has been placed in reserve. This has increased the operational reliability of our services, which many production units require because the current market cannot tolerate unexpected production losses or delays. The new equipment operates continuously without unexpected stops, thus meeting the expectations placed upon it.

Atlas Copco GA 30-7.5 FF rotary screw compressor.

We use it to produce compressed air at 6 bar. We decommissioned two old units but still increased our existing capacity by 35%. The new equipment operates reliably without unexpected stops. It can meet both the current demand for 6 bar air and any future additional requirements.

Tightness testing equipment pre-assembled for EKB-SF gas pressure regulators (2 pieces).

A new gas pressure regulator product line has been developed under the name EKB-SF, which has promising market prospects as it can provide the parameters of the larger, older model family with minor modifications. During assembly, inspections are necessary, one element of which is various pre-assembled tightness tests. To expedite this process and automate evaluations, this type of equipment has been developed, which performs inspections and evaluations independently of human factors. The inspection parameters and evaluation criteria on these devices can be adjusted according to the specifications of the type variations within the product family, ensuring the expected flexibility.

The machinery acquired under the Széchenyi 2020 program contributes to the efficient and high-quality fulfillment of orders, as well as facilitates the recruitment of new workforce. The total cost of the implemented project exceeds 254 million forints, out of which the European Union provided non-refundable support exceeding 89 million forints. The remaining portion was financed by HEAT energy Kft.

Thanks to this investment, the company can preserve existing jobs and create new employment opportunities.

HEAT energy has been working in the oil and gas sector for more than 35 years – more than 50 years in the case of LOG Oiltools. We are therefore a competent provider in the value-creation chain of these sectors. We represent the philosophy of creating values in more areas than simply in production. Taking the aspirations of our customers as our starting point, we strive to add value to products through continuous improvements and ideas, as well as through excellent standards of service in all areas from design to engineering and out to production and service. We also treat ecological sustainability as an essential and common-sense requirement.

We employ 290 people including about 60 engineers and technical specialists and they are the engine for the developments and improvements that enable us to turn customer wishes into realities.
